One drawing, one decision · PE Architectural · Episode 01

Can the ceiling space accommodate every system?

Start with the original 3D cutaway, then follow the narrated coordination section and choose the architect's first defensible action.

The coordination decision

The duct and sprinkler main approach an existing beam. The ceiling and recessed light occupy the space below it. Their exact elevations, outside dimensions, insulation, supports, and access requirements have not been verified.

Which action comes first? Reveal the reasoning

Request dimensioned coordination from the structural, mechanical, fire protection, electrical, and architectural teams. Test the complete service envelopes against the measured beam underside and ceiling elevation. Resolve a route before issuing coordinated drawings. Do not assume a lower ceiling or authorize a beam opening from the schematic alone.
